I have as much faith in Wofford as in Goff this week. If we run this offense it's not that hard to screw up. Throw short passes and let your receivers do all the work. We ain't attacking we are reacting and until McVay figures that out we are in serious trouble unless are defense scores us more tds.
cmon man...Goff is 7-0 vs Cardinals since 2017 and usually has 100+ ratings in all of them....you give this Rams team far too much credit to just think they can roll out any QB and win this game vs team that needs the win as bad as us. that's simply hyperbole or pretty myopic to think a guy with zero experience is going to be as good as Goff cuz this team is so good at WR and is such an easy offense to command.
I bet every Cardinal fan and player is pretty happy that Goff will probably be out that is for sure
At this point in the season we are on our last straw. We lose this game and bears win we are out season over. We are down to malcom brown now at rb and wofford most likely it doesn't really matter if we are just going to throw five yard routes. If we are going to roll out goff that has played the last few weeks I don't expect a cardinals win.
You mean the Goff who played behind an exposed OL that allowed 10 pressures to the Jets and 24 (most in 3 years) to Seattle?
How many qbs play well under those conditions?
Same stuff happened to Bulger way back when. Some people back then thought it was all on the qb too.
...
How was that protection on the crucial pick he threw i saw green grass in front of him? How crucial was that online when he slid two yards short of the first down. How crucial was that online when he short armed higbee on that deep ball. Im not blaming this game entirely on Goff but he is a contributing factor even when he has protection. I didnt see a qb that had no time to throw that was getting sacked and hit left or right. I saw an inaccurate qb that made some I'll advised decisions. Mcvay isn't doing him any favors either I don't even recognize this offense any more.
That was a "crucial pick" because they could get no offense going the rest of the time. And btw that play he was running from the pass rush, right? Anyway yes the threw that pick in spite of converting 47% of the Rams 3rd downs, which would rank 4th in the league across 15 games.
When pressure is that total many things break down, including the timing and design of pass plays (24 pressures! On 43 attempts! That's 55.8%. Name me any qb who has played well with a pressure rate over 50%. That's unheard of.)
Yes you saw a qb who had no time to throw and was standing in there to make plays anyway. That's exactly what you saw!
I've quoted this tweet a couple times now:
