McVay did - they only had 7 carries in the first half. Did Akers seem like he had trouble running once McVay fed him in the second half? The man had at least 50 yards taken away on penalty calls too
Anyhow Warner is saying that Goff without the run fake (play action) to fool the defense is less effective. If the defense doesn’t have to worry about the run or run fake they don’t have trouble dealing with Goff as a passer
And he’s right and like he said in the article the Rams have to improve their ability to pass the ball outside of that scheme.
Other teams that run this offense Green Bay, Tennessee, Atlanta are not as reliant on play action although they use it
