The bigger question is why isn’t McVay trying to get the first down with 2 shots on 3rd and 4.
Just call plays to get 5 yards, get the first down. Then take a shot.
I put 99% of the blame of this loss on McVay.
Team wasn’t prepared to play
Bad game plan
Poor play calling
And Staley's vaunted D gave up 23 points to an 0-13 team, letting them start the 2nd half with their 2 longest drives of the season for 10 points, and getting 0 turnovers.
Goff wasn’t very good, but the OL was terrible, he was getting battered relentlessly. Why wasn’t McVay moving Goff outside the pocket in the first half?
And STs give up a blocked punt to ice it off.
This game should not have even been close. That’s on McVay more than anyone else.
