Personally, I think the Rams could have punted on first down every time they got the ball in the 4th quarter and the score still would have been 24-3. I'm talking 1-and-out for the final 15 minutes!!
The important thing, though, is I am sure the Rams' defense thinks so, too. Did you see them strapping on their helmets and bouncing around the sideline when it was 3rd and 6? It was almost as if they were hoping the offense wouldn't convert just so they could get back on the field and put a few more nails in the Pats' coffin!!
But that was against the Pats when the game was well in hand. A different day against a different team in a closer game I expect McVay to call a different game. The Rams did what they had to do yesterday. But they will certainly take a different approach when the situation calls for it.
Funny I noticed that two guys were willing to keep playing on defense today hell they pretty much got the whole 3rd quarter off.
