There is no way Bonamego wasn't all over that call. As well as the drafting of a hobbit to kick for us who couldn't clear the DL with his trajectory and didn't have enough leg to change the trajectory because then he wouldn't have the range.
Bonamego and the Rams' scouts missed that I think. They missed it and probably now have a nice lesson learned file in their heads with kickers. Thankfully Gay does have a ton of leg power and a nice straight ball when he kicks with a high trajectory. Somehow we came out of all that with a guy who might be a very good kicker. But who recommended him? Not Bonamego. I mean it's really funny that Hekk was the guy who drove that signing...
