Agree with your take on McVay.. he just doesn't seem to be able to adjust on the fly to counter what the defense is doing in order to take advantage of it.. I've always thought he wasn't a good tactician, and that's what I meant by that - sometimes you gotta change tactics and McVay doesn't appear to be very good at it..
He may grow. And again, they're 7-4 with a chance at the division, so it's not like you and I are demanding he be fired.
But, he could grow as a playcaller and develop that in-game sense of the moment.....
