He's not some shrinking violet. He's young and a bit of an introvert, but he's way tougher than people think and I believe that from the way he's bounced back and found success at every level to include the NFL. The guy is an NFL QB. He's not some rookie that you will say "well if I sit him now his world will implode."
The only real question with him for me at least is how high his ceiling is. I used to think he had an elite ceiling but now I'm not so sure about that. But either way if he does get sat at some point he will bounce back from it. And in a way it may be good for him. Guys can get too comfortable at times, maybe under McVay you start thinking everything's ironclad but even McVay can have his genius label eroded by poor play.
So this is why I'm glad McVay outed him in the press conference. I'm rooting for Goff and maybe he needs that pressure, who knows. But either way I'm also rooting for McVay and think he's a head coach of rare quality. We need to build around McVay to my mind at least. He's the franchise IMO. And I love Goff. I think he's a good QB but I am not gonna sit there and watch him erode things and I hope McVay won't either basically.
