To get to a question on Covid changing things ... I feel like the scouts will have a harder time, but guys like me that go just by tape will not be affected.
I have always gotten the sense that "Snead scouts" do a lot of talking with and watching players closely on the sidelines getting a feel for their whole demeanor. They can't do that this year ... at least not to the same extent. They really mainly have tape.
As far as changes in being "amped" I haven't seen much ... and I'm big on body language.
Really it's about who falls to 64. If you have a 1st round OT, ILB, or Edge ... I think it's unlikely that you have more than one of those guys.
Another note ... we're going to tender Williams with a 1st rounder and may end up with a first round pick. I thought we had him another year but he's a restricted FA.
The rangy ILB that can cover that is around 235 and 6-1 is trending more these days and a guy like Chazz Surratt may make 64. But if we're looking at that a little later (which is probably better) there are still plenty of guys available in 3rd round comp area.
OT? Seems like there is depth there this year and we make make a Noteboom like pick. We only have him one more year. I feel like there is depth there, as well, though if a guy like Eichenberg makes 64 (or gets close) you might wanna jump.
Zaven Collins is my guy at Edge at 64, but odds are he won't make it.
Roche' last that long?
Brenton Cox on UF? Ossai of Texas? depending on how they test they may not be there or fall farther ...
and I'll say it again ... TE is a great class this year and there will be talent late. replacing Everett with Hopkins and replacing Mundt if needed.
Quality smaller school CBs in this draft as well.
