I think you and I miss the Bones aggression more than McVay did. I believe he's the type who feels the misses more than he enjoys the hits. I could be wrong but since Bones is no longer here, well, that's the evidence of my theory. With that said, I agree that McVay will replace coach B. with a more innovative mind. I'm just not convinced that coach will be young though recent history suggests you're right.
As for Staley, his concepts and feel for adjustments seem to be top notch so far but 10 games is a relatively small sample size. I wonder how it will look after teams get an offseason to break it down. Part of becoming a HC is the ability to recruit assistants and I doubt he has that much clout yet. Furthermore, I think there's a better than even chance McVay elevates one of his current D coaches and retains the philosophy currently employed if Staley moves on.
