Since our Rams were going to a Draft a Kicker why couldnt it has been Blankenship. They said he was 17 of 19 so far this yr thats excellent at this point. When my sons and I were following the Draft and we seen we picked Sloman we were like why not Blankenship instead ? Then we all seen 'ah' Sloman is from McVays College. But it was like nah he wouldnt like his emotional attachment to the school influence the choice on a Kicker would he ? Well we will all wonder. If he did I hope he learned his lesson. He is a young HC and will learn as he goes just like anyone in their particular Career in life.
I am with you Brother! We missed on that one didn't we? Stuff like "college loyalty", "friendships", "Nepotism" and "favors" are all too common in the NFL.
What I wonder is did they watch Slowman's game film? Did the work him out before the draft? If so, they didn't do a very good job! How do you not see his low trajectory? His inconsistent kickoffs?
Makes me wonder if the other guys like Hallelujah ever had a chance no matter how well they kicked in camp! I think McVay made this call as a "favor" to the college but you are right...we may never know.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
