How's he supposed to get much experience if they continue to hide him on the bench?!
Get him on the field already!!!
But they are not just going to give him snaps when the 2 guys in front of him are both doing very well. The rookie's got to earn playing time.
What's weird is he seems to have lost his starting job due to injury....he was the starting RB in the opener, then got hurt in week two as the starter and hasn't seen much of the field since he returned from injury
Yes the other backs are doing well, but I still think Akers has the ability to be our most explosive play maker.....we need to get him back on the field. Watch that screen pass the other day where he broke three different guys ankles who all had him dead to right.... unless he is messing up in practice I just don't see enough snaps from him in games lately for them to say he needs to step it up
He wasn't listed on the depth chart when TC broke as the starter. He was listed 3rd. It was Brown, Hendy, then Akers.
He likely started game 1 because Hendy was injured. So I don't think the starting job was ever his. That wouldn't even make sense given the emphasis McVay puts on his RBs being able to help protect the QB.
Don't freak out! Last year people got concerned when Hendy didn't play much. It's pretty clear McVay doesn't just throw his RBs in there. Akers will play more this 2nd half - but not start - and a lot more next year.
I personally don't care if it's Akers or Henderson, just let it be one of them and let them get into some sort of rythm....this offense was at its best when we had a work horse at RB
I watched Josh Jacobs carry the ball 31 times on Sunday and carry the Raiders to a win and he's about the same exact size as Akers.... these guys can handle the load, let one of them cook
