His YPC is down somewhat vs. his first three years with the Rams (11.8 vs. 13.5) and his targets are down a bit too (6.8 vs. 8.2) though his catch percentage (68.5%) is the highest of his Rams tenure.

I think it is Higbee they need to get back into the flow of the passing game. He's only had 4+ receptions once this year (@PHIL). A productive TE is a QB's best friend.

To get Higbee involved, McVay has to want to. He only has once, a few games last year. And that came after initially trying to get Everett more involved then GE got hurt (numbers bear out trying to make Everett the guy last year before Higbee, then Higbee stepping up after GE goes out).

McV doesn't apparently want to get Higbee more involved. Apparently coach thinks of Higbee as a blocker first. And of course this could change, theoretically, but who knows.

Right now he has the same general number of targets as Everett.

Like to see him utilize Higbee more - and no deep routes???

ferragamo79160November 03, 2020 06:17AM

so does the lack of true deep threat impact the Rams?

Speed_Kills162November 03, 2020 07:18AM

  I think so
