We all know that one game doesn't define a team, (I've said that myself many times, and said it after the loss last week), but tonight? I'm not so sure that holds true.
In contrast, I am pretty sure that holds true.
What I see happening is not the team facing a particularly crucial game. I see many of us putting a lot on this game, which is a different thing.
They lost to SF and looked lackluster doing it, and their wins are all against the helpless NFC East. So people wonder, what is this team, really? And it's natural that a Monday Night game against a fairly tough opponent would then be set up in OUR MINDS as revealing.
But it's too early for revealing games. They could lose and get it together after that and be a contender, or they could win but it's a fluke and they then stumble afterwards in the league's toughest division.
Our expectations, anxieties, and hopes are all high. The game in itself is just game 7.
