Excellent post, Dead. As usual.
I find myself in agreement with all but two of your points, and those are merely quibbles.
4. The rams have a talent issue. This is why I hate trading away multiple 1st round picks.
A) LB - the Rams have zero talent inside. Kiser is ok, but not rangey enough and lacks instincts in space. At OLB, Floyd is not the answer and outside of a rookie, not much else.
cool smiley DL - its literally AD and nothing else. Combine that with no edge rush and its gonna take a heck of a scheme to generate pressure against good OLs.
C) still need to work on the interior line. I like Edwards, but not at LG, Blythe is ok at best and I just don't like Corbett.Yeah, trading away 1sts has a price. But one doesn’t get a Ramsey or Goff caliber talent without doing so. So, for critical positions I see the long term upside.
I agree that ILB is a weakness and must be addressed one way or another.
I’m a bit more optimistic about our interior OL. Well, put it this way, I see other far more pressing needs right now than our OL.
8.I won't go to deep into the draft, because I'm enjoying the season. But ILB should be 1a, 1b and 1c on their list of draft priorities along with an OC. Still would somehow love to get Creed Humphrey from Oklahoma. Love his attitude as an OC.I see edge as a far bigger need than ILB, frankly. Edge looks like a critical 3-down problem whereas ILB seems like a more moderate 2-down problem. Conceivably, one of these problems could be addressed by Snead before the trade deadline via a 2nd tier player.
