2. McVay made 1 really bad decision tonight when it was 2nd and goal from the 1 and after running the ball down their throats the whole drive, passed the ball 3 times. That was the ball game. --- Agree! We were getting 7-10 ypc on that drive. They couldn't stop it. Inexplicably we decided to stop ourselves by not running from the 1.
3. Goffs trajectory to me looks like a Flacco or Stafford type. Good, top 12 qb good, but not a guy that will put an offense on his back and carry it. He is still too inconsistent for my taste. And not game to game, its from drive to drive. --- I feel that he's a little bit more than the Flacco/Stafford type but I don't fully trust him as an elite QB either.
4. The rams have a talent issue. This is why I hate trading away multiple 1st round picks.
C) still need to work on the interior line. I like Edwards, but not at LG, Blythe is ok at best and I just don't like Corbett. -- This is a lot of criticism of the OL but it's been effective. Right? The run blocking has been great and that's evident by the effectiveness of the running game. Goff hasn't been under too much pressure either. I didn't pin any of yesterday's results on the OL.
6. Was Akers a healthy scratch or what did I miss? --- Henderson was killing it. I doubt Akers missing affected the game any. My guess is he was a healthy scratch with McVay going with the hot hand and the RBs he trusts.
7. ....Getting Robinson and Akers and Fuller and Lewis up to speed and in the lineup would go along ways to improving both sides of the ball. Not to mention getting Jefferson more involved as the year goes on. --- 3 of these players are on defense. The D is doing pretty good overall but it could still stand improvement. I think the biggest issue at this point is the bad run defense resulting from the loss of Robinson. He's a level above both SJD and Gaines in stopping the run and is the guy who is supposed to be protecting the subpar LBs. I expect the D to take a step up when he returns. Whatever Lewis provides will be a bonus.
