Yeah, could have been. But in the NFL it's still sort of a rarity. I thought it was going to be about a 14-17 point game. I was not expecting some 40- point win with starters on the sidelines for the bulk of the 4th quarter. That again just happens so rarely.
But yes, a combination of some bad (or just conservative?) playcalling by McVay, a wounded animal/team playing for pride, and maybe there is something to playing similar offenses back-to-back.
Where I was most surprised was that the Rams offense didn't adjust well at halftime. Through 3 games they had outscored teams 52-20 in the 2nd half. So at halftime when it was 10-6 I thought, "this is probably going to end up about 27-9."
Defensively I thought they played very well overall. Consistently came up with stops when put in bad position and sucked it up late when they were clearly tired.
