Goff played well the other day. McVay did a masterful job at not even giving Dallas an opportunity to get to him. Not only the usual tight formations and action...but he stuck with the run and as the game went on it got more productive. In addition to that... the "quick" passing game.
The "quick passing game" is something many of us have been asking for and finally, we got it Sunday... and they executed it beautifully. As a result of implementing that strategy, we lost some of the deep balls we are used to seeing but they are going to need to trade off on that depending on the opponent and even in game situations
back to Goff and that QB rating... what did your eyes see? What did your eyes see in the NFCCG against NO? His 83 QB rating in that game did not tell the story of how he handled that crowd and adversity being down in that hornets nest. The same could be said for leading them back in NO earlier in the season down 35-14.
One of the biggest things that impact QB rating is TDs and completion percentage. If I had to nitpick one thing about Sunday and previous games under McVay is I want the Rams to go for the jugular more often and have Goff be more aggressive when in the redzone ... to score TDs. They have to find of way of getting the ball to big body Higbee or Reynold and Jefferson down there. Just get Goff throwing that ball into the endzone
I thought both QBs played well overall in that game. Dak was under much more pressure and in the second half it started to get to him
