College production.
At this point, neither has proven anything in the NFL.
When people say that Akers is going to be the lead back no one asks based on what. It's all speculation right now.
But what we do know right now is that the unofficial depth chart has Brown #1, Hendo #2, and Akers #3. I'm sure it will change but if we're insisting on evidence there's very little actual evidence that suggests Akers is ahead of Hendo right now.
Yeah, it’s speculation, dz.
But that ‘unofficial’ Depth chart looks like it’s based on league seniority. Maybe a coincidence, but what if they made the depth chart alphabetically? Wouldn’t that make Akers #1? Just as logical. Lol.
As to ‘actual evidence’? Akers has been taking a lot of snaps with the ones, while Hendy hasn’t taken any while injured. Doesn’t that constitute at least some slight evidence?
McVay has gone out of his way to say nice things about all of his RB’s, including Jones. But he has made a point to declare that the Rams are expecting ‘a lot’ from Akers.
Don’t know about you, but I don’t think Malcolm Brown keeps opposing DC’s up at night.
So, I think some are subtle and others are not so subtle clues about McVay’s intentions.
