I don't get the disdain for him already. he looked downright electric last year. I don't know how many here judge our rbs from last year while our o line was downright pathetic. Our rbs could not get out of the backfield without having to dodge defenders. I hope it is different this year, but not sure why it would be with the same cast of characters on o line.
For sure his YPC average was pedestrian, but he absolutely had some "electric" 3-yard runs - and let's be clear: I'm not being remotely sarcastic in saying that. He had a few 2 and 3-yd runs that got me excited. I remember more than once thinking that Gurley would have been dropped in the backfield, no question.
Course, it's not enough. Gotta know the playbook, be able to passpro, have good ball security, stay healthy. Henderson is a question mark on all those fronts.
But the kid has skills as a runner. I like what I see from Akers, but as a pure runner I don't think DH takes a back seat.
