Idk... I just have a hard time putting all of that on McVay... I have seen Goff play that poorly 5 or 6 times now against good teams (as you mentioned the other day)


He owns some of that... more than some.

Waldman made it clear that Goff needs a good team around him otherwise he's gonna look bad, he's not Mahomes or Wilson.

Name a game Goff played poorly (qb rating under 80, just for a convenient number) and they had both a solid OL (like the first half of 2018) and a running game.

Wilson has had some mediocre OLs but the year it also suffered multiple injuries, it eventually got to him too.

Mahomes has never played behind an OL with problems like that. So we don't know if he's one of the few who could do it without regressing.

It's not just Goff that needs a solid, relatively healthy OL. That's true of almost every qb in NFL history.
