Waldman has his favorites based on his player evaluations. He always liked Goff, Reynolds, and Higbee.

He defended Goff in the SB, saying that mess was mostly on McVay's shoulders.

Regardless of how you feel about that, the fact remains that the Rams OL got abused in the SB, and 2 years later McVay is searching for answers inside after letting Saffold walk. That was clearly a miscalculation by Snead/McVay.

And its not only Waldman. Jourdan has said worrying things about the OL as well.

McVay was saying great things about Noteboom and Corbett early on. And they got abused in the scrimmages. What does that say about Evans and Edwards?
