People mention the knee surgery he had. He went out in the Pittsburgh game because of that injury and of course did not return.
But he played poorly before that injury. So
that injury does not explain games 1-8.
What was wrong games 1-8? It could be another, different injury that he could play with but hampered him. Or it could he the Talib theory--Talib said the team did not work as hard in the wake of the super bowl so came out of the off-season lagging. It probably did not help that the starting OL never lined up as a group in the pre-season.
