I can't even imagine how the NFL can conduct a serious draft without a college football season.
I can't even imagine how college Juniors and Seniors are supposed to strut their stuff and be placed in a hierarchy without a college football season.
Players will not develop. Some who are ready to explode onto the scene will not be seen.
And for colleges, what will they do about eligibility? If Seniors are allowed to return for one more year, I'd imagine a ton of them would. And if that happens, what happens to college recruiting when young guys are going to have to wait longer to play, because upper classmen are going to be around a lot longer, and taking up a roster spot and playing time that no freshman is going to get... and not very many sophmores either.
2021 is a good year NOT to have a 1st round pick, but rather a bunch of lower picks because it's going to be more like buying tickets to a raffle. There's not going to be much art or science to it; it's only that the more tickets the more mathematical chances to win. Going only on 2 year old film is about all the scouts will have.
Ugh.
