It’s true that the Rams will be relying on help from some rookies, but it’s not true that those rookies are unknowns.
Rookie RB’s often have great rookie years. Akers looks like a real prospect to replace the injured Gurley. Hendy might have a good 2nd year. In combo, I see these two as an upgrade over the cranky ‘19 Gurley. I’m serious. Yeah, it’s a projection, but this Thiry exercise itself is a projection.
Similarly, Jefferson/Reynolds seem like an upgrade over the concussed ‘19 version of Cooks. I don’t see that as a stretch at all.
ARob has made this DL better than the ‘19 version. Period.
Clay Matthews was a shadow of his former self and should easily be upgraded on run D by a rotation of Ebu, Obo, Lewis, Polite, or Patrick. I mean, Matthews had become an outright liability in run D as the season progressed. He still hasn’t been signed by 31 other teams, has he?
Littleton and Fowler were cap casualties. They will probably be missed but what are you gonna do? Even there, Littleton’s ‘19 run D could be upgraded this year. And don’t go to sleep on Floyd in a Staley D.
Ramsey/Hill all year vs the ‘19 Peters/Talib early on sure seems like an upgrade to me.
S seems upgraded with the departure of Weddle.
Place kicker? I dunno. But I do think one of these promising candidates to replace GZ should be able to improve on those 40-49 yard attempts numbers.probably stay healthier, too.
