My first thought on Staley on Jalen Ramsey ........there may not be a more versatile DB starting in the NFL better than Jalen Ramsey. I see a DB who was made to play in the Staley defensive scheme.
JR is talented enough to win any matchup @ all the secondary positions Staley can think of .....anywhere anytime. A true marriage made in football heaven as I see it. I see the JR trade & the hiring of DC Brandon Staley as unbelievable stroke of luck for this 2020 defense. The defensive scheme can make JR as big in the NFL as Aaron Donald if he can keep growing in maturity along with keeping some humbleness while keeping his abundance of arrogance undercover.
Snead has two very young talented CB's (Long/Burgess) both drafted in the 3rd rounds of the 2019&2020 drafts to groom to be major players in Staley new defense. I would expect that both these young corners will be utilized much more often by Staley than what we have seen from Wade over the last 3 seasons.
Here's my perception as to how the Rams 2021 CB cadre will look like:
#1-Ram 2021 UFA's CB's Troy Hill & Donte Deayon will depart & sign elsewhere.
#2-Snead end up drafting on the 2nd day of the 2021 NFL draft another CB to replace the loss of the above corners.
#3-CB Darious Williams will sign Ram's RFA tender offered in March 2021 to start @ one outside corner post in 2021.
#4-Jalen Ramsey will be under contract & leading the Rams secondary in 2021 & beyond with corners Williams, Long, Burgess, Alexander & the newly drafted rookie as our corner cadre.
