How?
So Akers won't go through the struggles of a rookie RB learning pass protection? Knowing the offense language? Knowing the playbook?
Don't forget C-19 season....No rookie camp......No off season programs.
Henderson is "MILES" ahead of Akers right now, so it's his job to lose. I don't see that happening, especially when Henderson looks really good!
Later in the season.........Rams goal will be RB by committee...A Henderson/Akers combo...I bet McVay has some special 2 back formations that will really throw a mismatch problem toa defense when both of our RB's are in the game.
It's gonna' be fun to watch!
I get that you’re ‘all in’ on Hendy, oldschool. But, I dunno. MILES ahead of Akers? Nope.
I’m a results oriented guy and Hendy’s ‘19 results were very underwhelming. Just a handful of carries and a handful of yards with no td’s. Struggled in pass pro and reportedly with the playbook, too. Just not the kind of results that would make me feel comfortable entrusting with the starting RB responsibility.
Akers, being a rookie, is a projection, himself. But I give him the edge over Hendy to get the lions share of the snaps in ‘20, anyway. Akers just seems more NFL ready to me, which will help with the reduced practices dur to virus restrictions. JMO, of course.
