I'm probably in the minority on this but.......
Thanks for all that you did for the Rams Orlando. You were one of the best Tackles ever! With that being said, I think this whole thing is stupid. His number isn't retired. Until it is, players can and should be able to wear it.
... much less that it's disrespectful for a 7th-rounder to do it. He's saying it's disrespectful for the Rams not to approach him about it first. I don't know enough for the protocols that govern this sort of thing, but while I wouldn't go so far as to say the Rams *should* have asked him, I'm generally in favor of gestures like that. That said, I also would have liked to see OP keep his disgruntlement behind closed doors. Is anyone's interests served by going public here? Sounds like he has preexisting beef w/the organization.
In the end, it won't be a big deal.
I would take that a step further. It isn't that they should ask him first, it's that they used to do that, but now they aren't.
I don't know the circumstances behind the Rams getting Pace involved with Saffold wearing his number last time, but it seems his beef is that they afforded him that courtesy before but now they're just giving his number to a relative nobody.
Pace has demonstrated that he is fine with someone wearing his number so I agree it is NOT about that.
