Viewed as 3rd round picks by whom? Other outsiders with no access to the actual NFL draft boards of the 32 teams? You know the opinions that really matter.
Anyway, I heard on the radio someone who covers the Jets say that Jefferson was the Jets target in the 2nd round when they traded down with Seattle. If true, it doesn't sound like he wouldn't have made it to the 3rd round.
Akers? There wasn't a clear consensus of the top 5 backs even by draftnik media.
As far as the OLine, I can see Snead's point. The Rams have a lot of young developing players already on the roster. They could add more, but then they got to get rid of players they haven't finished developing yet. And as bad as many believe the OLine to be, the OLine looked much better towards the end of the season and the team was scoring points.
