I loved the first 4 picks. Just loved them. Bold picks and players that should compete immediately, heck 3 of them might even be getting starts if things break right.

I ‘like’ the Hopkins pick in the 4th. ‘Love’ would be too strong a word, but as a developmental pick for possibly ‘21 when Everett might leave? Yeah, I see value there and he certainly fits into the Ram philosophy of drafting players a year ahead of perceived need.

But after that? I’m just lukewarm with the sole exception of Sloman who seems a legit competitor to become the new kicker replacing GZ.

Almost seems like they could have thrown darts at the board and come up with equally rated players on their other picks in the 6th and 7th. Maybe someone can enlighten me otherwise?

I guess I need to be reminded that especially on late picks I’m not privy to inside info on team strategy and vetted player strengths. Time will tell whether these guys ever make it or not. Besides, we are talking about 6ths and 7ths, after all.

As to the Rams not going for OL players early? I’m over it. Heck, I was suggesting the possibility well before the draft. The clues and breadcrumbs were all over the place.

Lack of Ram panic at Edge and ILB is reassuring, too. Rams have been claiming confidence in those 2 position groups already on their roster, including the new DC Staley, and son of a gun, they must have meant it. Lol.

Bottom line for me is that I think the Rams came away with a bumper crop of high end quality through at least round 3 despite lacking a 1st (unless we count Ramsey as our 1st). If we count Ramsey in this haul it’s gotta be rated as an A+++ draft!
