im not knocking saffold. hes a very good player. the problem im seeing is a recency effect. guys like blythe and havs and cooks had a down year last year. no doubt. but is that who they are? players are not static. their level of play varies from year to year and game to game. for example, in 2018 blythe was pretty good and both havs and cooks have been good over the majority of their careers. why is it that they are now bums that should should be cut/not resigned?
I think this is valid, Havenstein has lived up to his billing when he has been healthy he is a really good right tackle, the times his play slipped has coincided with injuries....well that is what my memory would lead me to believe.
