That tells me they are admitting Henderson was a mistake.
Henderson did not even come close to his predicted potential. Injuries, pass pro, playbook issues robbed him of that. I mean, that’s just not debatable.
Now, he might snap back and be All Pro this year and without injury. But are the Rams in any position to gamble on that? Not hardly.
I fully expect the Rams to take a quality RB by the end of Day 2.
It's been the norm with the Snead/McVay head that the plan is for rookies to not play much their first year. They have been drafting players a year before there is a need. That's also not debatable. Players that have been pressed into duty such as Evans and Edwards is because of injuries.
So IMO that won't change. There is no ding on Hendo because he didn't come close to his "predicted potential." In fact, if someone was expecting him to do a whole lot in his rookie season behind Gurley, if there was some high "predicted potential" for year 1, I would say that whoever believed that was misguided in their expectations given the Rams recent MO.
IMO there is nothing for him to snap back from.
I expect them to take a RB at some point in the draft but I think it will be more of a Day 3 thing. But we'll see. This is all just conjecture.
