I think a lot of people haven't understood the Rams method of operation. Especially the national experts.
The Rams for several years now have been projecting their needs one year ahead and drafting to fill holes early. I'm sure they knew the status of Gurley's knee last year and so they drafted Henderson.
IMO, that wasn't just to be a complimentary piece to Gurley. It was with the intent for him to be RB1 knowing that they may need to move on from Gurley after the season.
