I see some value in that but the big problem, to me, is the players they signed were expensive. Clearly lesser players and at a high cost. What did they save moving from Brock to Robinson? Two million per? Same a Floyd to a lesser extent though the one year commitment is likey the reason why. But he is making an absurd amount of money for his level of play. Then you don't resign, for super cheap, an above average player at a critical position .
The talent on this team is significantly less. And we are still spending a good deal of money. I'm lost as to what they are doing.
Yes and no, luke.
Yeah, Floyd and Robinson are less expensive than Littleton, Fowler, and Brockers.Heck, isn’t that the point?
But it doesn’t stop there. Floyd and Robinson are both better run stoppers than their predecessors (still unclear to me exactly where Floyd plays, but I suspect that Staley wants to move him around for unpredictability purposes). Bottom line is that this Staley D is gonna be better at defending the run and they’re not done yet. Stopping the run sure seems like a good idea in a division where the Rams play the Seahawks and 49ers twice each every season.
