they have a OC that they like that is sitting there.
I think Ruiz is gone. And I think Cushenberry is gone. That leaves probably Hennessy as the only viable 2nd round OC in the draft that would be available. Which is fine, but he struggles against power like every other one of the Rams centers. He does have room on his frame to add some anchor and add power easily, but I'm not sure he moves the needle much for 2020.
If they take a backup LT, they are reaching IMO, for one thing, and the second thing is any LT taken in the 2nd round (be it Austin or Tega Wanogho, Peart or Bartch) will be a project. Which is fine, but even Snead said this year with so few picks, it might be time to take the safe prospect. That isn't any of those 4 IMO.
So that leaves LG. Im not sure who you would even look at for LG in the 2nd round. I'm not sure I will have anyone there. Maybe Jackson, Hunt or Muti? Muti is the ultimate risk pick so forget him. I guess Jonah Jackson then. Because you have to be concerned with hunt's level of competition.
So this leads me back to DL/Edge. So when I work the math, to me it becomes Davidson, Madubuike, Blacklock for the DL and Weaver, Greenard, Okwara and Uche at edge.
I know its a far ways from the draft and they haven't hit FA yet and that will change all sorts of stuff. But I am really kinda locking in on those 7 players. You can add Hennessy to if you would like to. That makes 8. I have all but eliminated S,CB,QB,TE,WR, and ILB from their current 2nd round slot. The only other position I might consider is RB and that is only because the Rams are meeting with all sorts of RBs at the combine. Where there is smoke...
Again, this is only my opinion, and my opinion only. I have no inside sources telling me where this team is leaning right now, I'm just trying to connect dots. I never would have guessed Rapp last year after signing Weddle and already having JJ aboard. So goes to show I know little. lol
