Blinkscout Day 3 combine ... Front 7 players

March 02, 2020 08:27AM
This was a more satisfying day this year because they split the groups into 3 as they should finally, and they had some new drills that I liked quite a bit. Making a 300 pound man spin and gtry to keep his balance is cool, so is the ring drill.
It was unsatisfying because the Ends were really not athletic at all and because 2 top tier LBs pulled hammies and like 5 didn't participate. Boooo.

I have some guys I'm just taking off the board because their lack of speed disqualifies them.

McTelvin Agim Arkansas 6-3 309 4.98 4.99 1.76 27 DNP DNP DNP 10 1/8 33 1/2 Pulled a hammy on his 40 ... ran a good time. He's a mid rounder.

Bradlee Anae Utah 6-3 257 4.93 4.91 1.68 25 7.44 31 9-7 10 1/8 32 1/8 Off my board with that 4.9 junk. Maybe if he had a better 3 cone I'd let him have a chance to make it up at his pro day.

Ross Blacklock TCU 6-4 290 4.90 4.91 1.70 DNP 7.77 29 8-11 9 3/4 32 3/8 Um I'm not as high on this guy as others. Had a good 10 split.

Derrick Brown Auburn 6-4 326 5.16 5.11 1.78 28 8.22 27 9-0 9 34 1/4 Really smooth ... definitely a top 10 caliber player from every angle.

Josiah Coatney Mississippi 6-4 308 5.21 5.22 1.80 22 8.07 27 8-3 10 32 3/4 I have this guy as a possible underrated 5 tech that could slide to the bottom of the draft.

Kendall Coleman Syracuse 6-3 257 4.95 4.96 1.70 DNP 7.50 32 9-6 10 31 3/4 Off my board.

Darrion Daniels Nebraska 6-3 311 5.18 5.19 1.81 21 7.75 27 9-1 9 1/8 33 3/4 Rotational at best, may slide and be undrafted.

Marlon Davidson Auburn 6-3 303 5.04 5.04 1.78 21 DNP DNP DNP 10 33 My preferred 5 tech. I'd love him at 52 if he makes it.

Carlos Davis Nebraska 6-2 313 4.82 4.82 1.67 27 DNP DNP DNP 9 5/8 32 Okay I didn't watch enough Nebraska. But these guys didn't pop as having that kind of ability. Likely to be overdrafted as a result.

Khalil Davis Nebraska 6-2 308 4.75 4.76 1.66 32 DNP DNP DNP 9 3/4 31 1/2

Raekwon Davis Alabama 6-7 311 5.12 5.13 1.78 24 7.95 28 9-3 11 33 7/8 He's a 5 tech for me. I wanted a better year out of him at Bama. He kinda stalled. I'd look for him in the 3rd but he's likely gone by then.

Jordan Elliott Missouri 6-4 302 5.02 5.03 1.71 24 DNP 27.5 DNP 10 1/4 32 3/8 Big TFL guy. Not as consistent as I'd want, but obviously athletic.

A.J. Epenesa Iowa 6-6 275 5.04 5.05 1.78 17 7.34 32.5 9-9 10 1/8 34 1/2 Never saw him as athletic enough. Never got the 1st round hype. I have him 4th round rotational 7 tech.

Leki Fotu Utah 6-4 330 5.15 5.16 1.80 21 DNP DNP DNP 10 5/8 34 1/4 Pulled a hammy, bummed me out. Maybe he'll slide IM not hearing much buzz. 5.15 at 330 though.

Neville Gallimore Oklahoma 6-2 304 4.79 4.79 1.71 23 7.97 DNP DNP 9 5/8 32 3/4 Times better than his tape, BUT ... you have athleticism and intangibles and that means he doesn't get out of round 2.

Jonathan Garvin Miami 6-4 263 4.82 4.82 1.67 23 DNP 36 10-5 9 5/8 34 Decent numbers ... still just a rotational 7 ... may not get drafted.

Trevis Gipson Tulsa 6-4 261 DNP DNP DNP 25 DNP DNP DNP 9 5/8 33 7/8 Wanted to see his numbers ... dangit.

Jonathan Greenard Florida 6-4 263 4.87 4.88 1.71 22 7.13 30.5 9-5 9 1/4 34 7/8 4-3 DE only. Off my board.

Yetur Gross-Matos Penn St. 6-5 266 DNP DNP DNP 20 DNP 34 10-0 9 3/4 34 7/8 Wanted to see him, bummed.

DaVon Hamilton Ohio St. 6-4 320 5.14 5.14 1.80 33 7.72 29.5 8-6 9 3/4 33 This fella is having quite the postseason. Super smooth in drills ... not "bursty" but really smooth. Round 4? 6?

LaDarius Hamilton North Texas 6-3 262 4.89 4.89 1.74 27 7.66 30 9-6 9 1/4 32 1/8 Rotational 7 tech only. Off my board.

Alex Highsmith Charlotte 6-4 248 4.70 4.70 1.68 DNP 7.32 33 10-5 9 1/8 33 1/8 3 cone is problematic ... but I'll leave him on my board.

Trevon Hill Miami 6-3 248 4.89 4.90 1.70 DNP DNP 28 9-8 9 1/4 32 3/8 Obviously has not really found where the gym is. He was a monster at V Tech as a sophomore and just didn't get any better or stronger. Off my board.

Benito Jones Mississippi 6-1 316 5.26 5.26 1.80 DNP 8.21 26.5 DNP 9 3/4 32 7/8 7th round target.

Khalid Kareem Notre Dame 6-4 268 DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP 10 7/8 34 3/8

Javon Kinlaw South Carolina 6-5 324 DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP 10 1/2 34 7/8

Rashard Lawrence II LSU 6-2 308 5.07 5.08 1.72 22 8.03 DNP DNP 11 34 1/8 So ... his burst time is good, movement skills were tight ... might be a 4th round target for me.

James Lynch Baylor 6-4 289 5.01 5.01 1.73 23 7.39 29 9-3 9 7/8 31 7/8 He's a 5 tech. Note the 10 split.

Justin Madubuike Texas A&M 6-3 293 4.83 4.83 1.73 31 7.37 DNP DNP 9 33 1/2 Had himself a day. Looked great in drills. Likely a second rounder now.

Larrell Murchison N.C. State 6-2 297 5.05 5.05 1.81 29 7.89 29 9-10 10 32 5/8 I've never really been a fan ... but he looked smooth.

Julian Okwara Notre Dame 6-4 252 DNP DNP DNP 27 DNP DNP DNP 10 1/4 34 3/8 Wanted to see him too. Bummed.

John Penisini Utah 6-2 318 DNP DNP DNP 23 DNP 25.5 DNP 10 1/2 32 7/8 I really don't think he's NFL caliber.

Chauncey Rivers Mississippi St. 6-3 262 4.97 4.97 1.80 20 7.33 30.5 8-10 9 3/4 32 7/8 Off my board.

Malcolm Roach Texas 6-3 297 4.84 4.84 1.68 20 DNP 30 9-6 9 5/8 31 7/8 Interesting numbers ... need to watch a Texas game. Missed him completely.

Alton Robinson Syracuse 6-3 264 4.69 4.69 1.65 25 7.32 35.5 9-11 9 1/4 32 3/8 He likely jumped a few rounds with that time ... his 3 cone is not great so likely not a 3-4 OLB

Qaadir Sheppard Mississippi 6-3 261 4.83 4.84 1.67 28 DNP 31.5 9-7 10 32 3/4

James Smith-Williams N.C. State 6-3 265 4.60 4.61 1.62 28 7.35 32 10-3 9 1/4 33 3/4 Hmmmm, Possibility. He has only popped on tape a few times ... so he'd be a project. But late he might be worth a flier.

Jason Strowbridge North Carolina 6-4 275 4.89 4.90 1.72 26 7.45 31 9-8 10 1/8 32 3/8 Meh. Rotational 7.

Derrek Tuszka North Dakota St. 6-5 251 4.79 4.79 1.69 24 6.87 33.5 10-0 9 7/8 31 3/8 3 cone makes him viable ... flier late?

Kenny Willekes Michigan St. 6-4 264 4.87 4.88 1.69 32 7.39 32.5 9-11 9 1/2 31 1/4 Rotational 7, off my board.

Raequan Williams Michigan St. 6-4 308 5.04 5.05 1.78 17 7.72 25.5 8-5 9 3/8 33 3/8 I thought he had a good day. I've watched him a few years and think he's a solid player.

Rob Windsor Penn St. 6-4 290 4.90 4.90 1.74 21 7.47 28.5 9-3 9 7/8 33 1/8 5 tech, ... wins me over with intensity. 6th round?

D.J. Wonnum South Carolina 6-5 258 4.73 4.73 1.70 20 7.25 34.5 10-3 10 1/2 34 1/8 Still on my board ... late, but there.

Chase Young Ohio St. 6-5 264 DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP 10 33 3/4

Jabari Zuniga Florida 6-3 264 4.64 4.64 1.61 29 DNP 33 10-7 10 3/8 32 7/8 4th round edge? Really all about his interviews I think ... he had some missing time.

Lot of DNPs here, bummed me out. Overall one of the best classes at LB I've seen ... as I predicted winking smiley

Joe Bachie Michigan St. 6-2 230 4.67 4.67 -- 26 6.93 33.5 9-11 10 1/4 31 5/8 That's the speed I saw on tape. He's a gutsy ILB that's a tad small. Strong, fast, great COD, need to find the short shuttles (because I know we hunt using those) ... his was good but not special.

Markus Bailey Purdue 6-1 235 DNP DNP -- 15 DNP DNP DNP 9 3/8 31 1/2 Wanted to see him workout and see his #s.

Zack Baun Wisconsin 6-3 238 4.65 4.65 -- 24 7.00 32.5 9-7 9 5/8 32 3/4 Wish he was heavier, but he put on a show and I'd still consider him at 52. Sooo smooth and great COD.

Francis Bernard Utah 6-1 234 4.81 4.82 -- 19 DNP 32.5 10-0 9 7/8 31 7/8 Little slow, Special teamer.

Daniel Bituli Tennessee 6-3 246 4.84 4.84 -- 16 DNP 32 10-1 9 1/4 34 3/8 Special teams, or bulk up and play the 7 on the end of a 4 man line.

Shaun Bradley Temple 6-1 235 4.51 4.51 -- 14 7.07 32.5 10-1 9 1/2 31 3/4 4.24 short shuttle. Tough ... really could be a target if we want to replace Littleton ...

Jordan Brooks Texas Tech 6-1 240 4.54 4.54 -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 1/8 32 7/8 Pretty sure he pulled up after the 40. 2nd round talent.

Cameron Brown Penn St. 6-5 233 4.72 4.73 -- 16 DNP 35.5 10-3 9 1/2 34 I am not quite sure what to do with him.

K'Lavon Chaisson LSU 6-4 254 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 7/8 32 1/4 no workout.

Nick Coe Auburn 6-5 280 4.89 4.89 -- 21 DNP 29 9-8 10 1/4 33 3/4 4-3 end. Good movement for a big guy.

Carter Coughlin Minnesota 6-3 236 4.57 4.58 -- DNP DNP 36 10-6 9 1/2 31 3/8 Need to come in over 240 ... needs a year to put 10 lbs on.

Akeem Davis-Gaither Appalachian St. 6-2 224 DNP DNP -- 21 DNP DNP DNP 9 1/2 31 1/8 no workout.

Michael Divinity LSU 6-2 242 4.85 4.85 -- 14 DNP 31 9-7 9 1/2 33 5/8 his field workout was better than his numbers ... needs to answer interview questions ...

Troy Dye Oregon 6-4 231 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 3/8 32 1/4 timed speed important.

Tipa Galeai Utah St. 6-5 235 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 1/2 33 5/8 timed speed important.

Cale Garrett Missouri 6-3 234 4.92 4.92 -- DNP 6.91 32 10-4 9 1/2 31 1/4 Slow 40 ... no long speed ... *fastest shuttle at 4.13... if he had been a CB, that would be 3rd place among CBs ... this makes him a legit sneaky ILB contender.

Willie Gay Jr. Mississippi St. 6-2 243 4.46 4.46 -- 21 7.08 39.5 11-4 10 1/2 32 5/8 What an athlete. He plays well too ... in this amazing class he will be underdrafted because he's second round talent all day. BUt does he last till the 3rd or 4th?

Scoota Harris Arkansas 6-0 234 4.69 4.70 -- 18 7.38 33 9-3 9 3/8 31 3/8 He will be underdrafted. Good shuttle ... decent times and weights.

Malik Harrison Ohio St. 6-3 247 4.66 4.66 -- DNP 6.83 36 10-2 10 1/4 32 3/4 Maybe we get lucky and he gets overshadowed and lasts till the 3rd? Look at that 3 cone ... kid could play WR.

Khaleke Hudson Michigan 5-11 224 4.56 4.57 -- 30 DNP 33 10-0 10 29 3/8 interesting tweener ...

Anfernee Jennings Alabama 6-2 256 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 1/8 32 7/8 Pretty good field work. Not great.

Azur Kamara Kansas 6-4 245 4.59 4.59 -- 13 7.20 28 10-1 10 35 1/4 This is an athlete. Need training but has a really high ceiling.

Terrell Lewis Alabama 6-5 262 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP 37 10-4 9 7/8 33 7/8 People were comparing him to Bud Dupree ... I see the comp. Likely gone before 52.

Jordan Mack Virginia 6-2 241 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 8 3/4 31 1/4 I loved this kid and was bummed to not see him ... I hope we send a legit squad to UVAs pro day.

Kenneth Murray Oklahoma 6-2 241 4.52 4.52 -- 21 DNP 38 10-9 9 1/2 32 3/4 pulled a hammy, but a top 20 player.

Dante Olson Montana 6-3 237 4.88 4.89 -- 15 7.00 42 10-4 9 1/8 32 3/8 not a great 40, but he has a + 3 cone and + short shuttle and + burst grades ... watch him late.

Jacob Phillips LSU 6-4 229 4.66 4.66 -- DNP 7.38 39 10-6 10 32 3/8 Okay in drills, a little tight.

Michael Pinckney Miami 6-1 235 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 10 32 3/8 Dangit wanted to see him.

Shaquille Quarterman Miami 6-1 234 4.74 4.75 -- 23 DNP 31 10-0 9 1/8 31 5/8 Will be underdrafted. Watched him since his first game ... opening weekend 2015. He is a lifer ILB with amazing instincts and leadership skills. he could fall to the 6th.

Patrick Queen LSU 6-1 229 4.50 4.51 -- 18 DNP 35 10-5 10 31 5/8 Pulled a hammy, bummer. Likely another 1st round LB though.

Chapelle Russell Temple 6-1 236 4.69 4.70 -- 21 7.38 35 10-1 10 32 3/8 Don't sleep on the Temple guys. Both ran well and had great field workouts.

Isaiah Simmons Clemson 6-4 238 4.39 4.39 -- DNP DNP 39 11-0 9 5/8 33 3/8 Dude. What are you doing with that time? You trying to play WR?

Justin Strnad Wake Forest 6-3 238 4.74 4.74 -- DNP DNP 29 9-5 9 1/8 31 3/4 Tough guy with durability issues that could slide off the board ... I think if he goes undrafted he ends up with us as we have some connection to Wake in my opinion.

Darrell Taylor Tennessee 6-4 267 DNP DNP -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 3/4 33 Bummer no workout.

Davion Taylor Colorado 6-1 228 4.49 4.50 -- 21 6.96 35 10-7 9 5/8 32 1/8 The new style LB like Littleton .. plays fast and times fast. NO idea where he goes in this class.

Casey Toohill Stanford 6-4 250 4.62 4.65 -- 17 7.08 39 10-6 9 1/2 33 1/2 Whoa brother ... did not see a 4.62 nor the second fastest shuttle at 4.21 Might be a real option for us with that weight for an edge with run stopping power.

Josh Uche Michigan 6-1 245 DNP DNP -- 18 DNP DNP DNP 9 1/2 33 5/8 Dangit dude wanted to see him.

Mykal Walker Fresno St. 6-3 230 4.65 4.65 -- 20 7.09 33 10-2 10 32 1/2 Good times average drills.

Curtis Weaver Boise St. 6-3 265 DNP DNP -- DNP 7.00 32.5 9-8 10 32 3/8 So, no 40. But he looked smooth in drills and was a top performer in the shuttle and 3 cone at 265 pounds ... I think we may need to look for him in the 3rd.

Evan Weaver California 6-2 237 4.76 4.76 -- 15 7.02 32 9-9 9 7/8 31 5/8 That's what I wanted form him. Great drills, + 3 cone and + short shuttle ... end of draft steal.

Logan Wilson Wyoming 6-2 241 4.63 4.63 -- 21 7.07 32 10-1 9 1/2 32 3/8 Likely timed himself out of our league. I'd consider him in the 3rd but he'll likely be gone.

David Woodward Utah St. 6-2 230 4.79 4.80 -- 16 7.34 33.5 9-6 9 1/4 31 5/8 Pedestrian.

Questions and comments welcome ... I'll do DBs next and save the O line for when I can really focus and take my time.
