I think when it comes to teams like the Rams looking at backup QBs it will be a buyers' market. Your point about why Bortles accepted just $1M from the Rams a year ago is valid. But given the highly unusual glut of 'name' QBs about the hit the market (Brady, Rivers, Mariota, Tannehill, Winston, Bridgewater, etc.) and at least three rookie 1st round picks in April the market for backup QBs is very likely going to shrink and I doubt many are going to command $5M+ salaries. If by some wild scenario someone offered Bortles $4-5M I'd wish him the best and take what would likely be a 2021 6th round comp. pick.
