Were coaches really having their players hit their star RBs in those practices? I have no idea but it would seem ridiculous to me having Dickerson hit every day preparing for a game.
Agree with the backs you listed--they seem to be outliers. Rare super durable players. Tomlinson, for example, had over 350 touches for his first 7 seasons. Season 8 he had 344. Over 400 three times in that span.
For comparison, take Zeke Elliot--his touches per year--
