Peters was NOT the same player I had watched for years when he was with us. Then we traded him and Ramsey came in and played quietly for us. I was getting afraid that we were gonna lose Ramsey like we lost Peters in the way they used those players....I dunno.
Both CBs just seemed very avg playing for us in Wade's scheme. I have no idea what it was...but when Peters went to the Ravens he was like a different player.
I have no clue as to why....
Baltimore deliberately sought out what they knew Peters was best at--and featured that.
Rams (and to be fair Peters too) thought he could change and fit their scheme.
That's 99% on Wade, 1% on Peters, and 0% on McVay.
You seem to be in an argument with someone who, in your mind, criticizes letting Wade go. Wrong. I am on record as saying I was fine with it--as long as he's replaced. Because somebody did things like coach up Littleton, Wms., and Hill to play exceptionally well...and we want that to continue.
What I am arguing against is simplistic, and reductive, faux analysis.
As it happens, overly pessimistic and overly optimistic takes are both fair targets for that.
I don't care anymore about the games where Peters was not working in 2018. They ended. They did not even last all of 2018.
They don't make for very good downer material. It was brief and they fixed it in 2018. Result was a top playoff defense last year.
