There is no way that McVay is a mad scientist, sitting alone, brooding in his darkened Media Room, and firing coaches he blames for a sub par season.
You can bet that Snead is in on the decision process, maybe even Kroenke to an extent, and likely Demoff.
I'm not about to analyze the why and wherefores. I don't know. None of us know.
And he has yet to deal with the players..... some of whom we may be equally surprised are let go.
One thing is for sure: McVay is making it clear that he is not going to be satisfied with anything less than the playoffs each year. 9-7 is not a great year nor a terrible year;it was more than enough to get in the playoffs for a few teams but nowhere near good enough if you're in the NFC West. Clearly to McVay's mind it was something closer to a disaster. And, he's taking tough steps for this team to be better.
If the We Not Me is going to be taken seriously, then the coaching staff has to be equally held accountable as the players. Perhaps that is why Wade, Bones, Peete, and probably a couple of others are on their way out the door.
Will those steps make this team better? I don't know. Partially because we don't even know who the replacements are.
So for me, at this point I cannot criticize or praise McVay. It's a wait and see.
