It's an offense that we don't recognize cuz something has changed. I don't know if it's the plays McVay has called that are different or that the players are just not executing or a combo of all 3 things...but this is not the same offense of the first 2yrs. McVay has to right the offense and get it back on track and I'm not sure if he has to re-invent his style or just tweak it but McVay's team has always been defined by it's offense performance. It might take an offseason of soul-searching to find it and try it. The Ravens took a few years to get Lamar into this mode...the 49ers took 3yrs to get firing on all cylinders...but it's possible!!
It just might take another offseason after their bread&butter offense got exposed by the Pats, Bears, etc last year.
I think the defense will be good enough and if we have to give big contracts for talent I'd rather give it to players that have been proven to be really good.
TG, AD, and Ramsey are some of the best at their position and deserving of the money based on their past performances. Goff....??? Well, he is a lucky winner of his position, circumstance and great performances of the previous 2 yrs and got his due...as zn always puts it so accurately...it IS the market price for a 2nd contract player who had those stats/performances of his 2nd & 3rd years production. HIgbee and Hav??? okay, there can be some head scratching there but remember that teams MUST spend money on players according to the CBA salary cap and can only roll over cap money for so long before they have to pay up. I'd rather they pay up for great players every time but it just doesn't always work that way. That's why the Ramsey trade is fine with me cuz we had to pay someone and why not an ELITE talent at a needed position?!!
