We all know that the OL is a mess and it indeed has hampered the offense, but it shouldn't mean Goff is throwing 5 picks and 0 TDs in his last 3 games.
Why shouldn't it mean that?
C'mon. This is an OL with 3 inexperienced mid-season injury replacements, including 2 rookies and 1 2nd year guy who has been with the team for a month.
Under what possible conditions would that mean that the qb was NOT under heavy pressure. When they blitzed the Ravens achieved a 62% pressure rate. That has no effect?
Having OL issues like that changes the playcalling and maximizes pressure on the qb.
Why is that on the qb?
Really--stress this point. THREE INEXPERIENCED ROOKIE AND NEAR ROOKIE MID-SEASON INJURY REPLACEMENTS.
In what universe does that mean the qb is expected to be okay?
Truth is no one has any idea how Goff is doing because the circumstances are so heavy in their effect that pretending we can isolate the qb from the circumstances is just...wishful thinking.
All I see is an ongoing tendency to not factor in OL issues and to act like the qb is not in a real context. I consider that a huge blindspot.
