Now maybe they're wrong. And Kromer has taken a hit with the play of Boom & Allen this season. But given how well Edwards & Evans played I don't think it's a stretch to think one of them can do it.

Taking a hit on NB is a mistake. He's a good prospect. Better built for tackle than guard, for sure. I would not count him out. The REAL issue with the OL this year is that both OTs regressed. You can start newomers if both your OTs hold up. If they don't hold up it doesn;t work. The mistake then is to act like the effects of an out of sync OL UNIT is the effect of individual player talent. It's not. No individual player looks good if the whole OL is out of sync, and then the mistake is to assume that is giving you insight into individual talent.

Same with Evans. He did not look good during the summer but that's because he was playing in an out of sync, not coherent 2nd string unit while switching positions. It was a huge mistake to assume anyone knew his individual talent based on that. Again--no OL looks good if the entire unit is not coherent.

In short, IMO it's a mistake to write NB off.

I even hold out hope for Allen, though that's a harder thing to do than NB.

I agree that Edwards can play LOT. I think Evans is destined for guard.
