My takeaway from that whole situation was that there was a fix for Warner's fumbling and the Rams gave up on him. Whether it was Martz or management or whatever. Not only did they give up on him, they didn't let him fight for his job which is the exact opposite of what the Cardinals did. Cardinals gave him a chance, he got injured, got benched and went through some up's and down's for them but ultimately, he was always given the chance to earn his job back. I think that is the biggest reason he appreciates their organization.
He had some injuries and struggles with the Rams and all told, after 7 games(over the course of 2 seasons), they gave up on him and were happy to move on to Bulger.
They gave him his big break but they also gave up on him and did so in questionable fashion.
I really don't see why anyone sides with the Rams on this discussion. The management and ownership at that time was not worthy of defense. Look what they did to Bruce. Warner was ultimately treated poorly and given up on. I don't see why he should have any loyalty to the people that did that to him. I, for one, am HAPPY that that group is dead and buried, so to speak, in St. Louis.
The Giants "gave up on him" too...because he couldn't hold the football and looked like a shell of his former self. So it wasn't just the Rams. I don't know who suggested the glove (maybe Brenda lol) but that is what saved\resurrected his career, not that the Cardinals "believed" in him. Wasn't he a backup when they signed him? I guess they didn't fully believe right away. lol
I agree with all you said on the front office being bad and could see why he is upset with those people, but it's also those same people who gave him his break. You can hate the FO people and still appreciate the "franchise".
I still like KW and appreciate what he has done for us but IMO to say what he said is silly and childish. If that's how he really feels, maybe he should've kept it to himself.
What are you even talking about? How is the Giants situation even remotely similar to the Rams?
And I didn't say the Cardinals "believed" in him. I said that they gave him the opportunity to win his job back. Which the Rams did not.
