He will break a long run, maybe this week in London.
It will be interesting to read the reactions from the Gurley apologists.
Honestly, everyone who isn’t a huge Rams fan can see it. Gurley just isn’t the same RB.
C'mon. There are different views of the TG situation. No need for the "apologist" number. That's acting as if only one view is true (yours) and the others are rationalizations. It's slighting other views.
I am a big Henderson fan or have been since they drafted him (he has unreal contact balance among other things) but I ALSO have a complicated view of Gurley which amounts to saying he can be productive even with the knee. I think he has value. Watch him near the goal line. He's fierce.
I think it's entirely possible for Henderson to play well without that meaning I have to diminish Gurley. It's just NOT either/or. This is not Kurt/Bulger in 2003. A team can have two backs without us having to fight about them.
....
First off, it’s not just my view. It’s the majority view of football analysts. Gurley is not the same guy. Waldman went so far as to say as soon as DH gets the offense down, Gurley is gone. Now that’s a radical take.
And I didn’t say Gurley doesn’t have value, please don’t do that. I said he’s not the same RB. He’s not the guy he was before the knee went south on him.
Gurley is diminished. When you go from the best RB in the league to what he is now, that’s diminished.
