He came in with the same approach and took one of the worst offensives in the NFL to the top just like Martz did.
They both did it with great space management, a deceptive approach to keep defenses on their heals, and an approach of doing whatever was needed to move the ball.
It is one of the reasons I love McVay as I loved Martz.
The fact that they don't force a running game and choose to punt the ball just because the text book on page 2.1, says you must run the ball on 1st down and this many times and this kind of ratio is a big reason whey they are 8 out of 9 going to the playoffs and coaches that chose to follow the text book are 0-20+
Yes, in over a quarter of a century nobody made the playoffs a single time doing it the way many posters keep asking for it to be done?
It is so confusing when the results are so overwhelming that giving up downs and punting the ball is a way to losing.
