Running the ball down 21 points against a great run defense is a formula for putting a suddenly incompetent defense back on the field.
Yes, it started out 21-0, but the Rams cut that down pretty quickly, and for the most part it was about 11 points down. Still, McVay was almost non stop passing.
Look at what Tampa's run defense did to the first 3 teams they played.
Rams were never going to run on Tampa.
