McVays ego cost the team. Running the ball 11 times against a team that gets to the QB quickly was a recipe for a embarrassing loss.
Running the ball down 21 points against a great run defense is a formula for putting a suddenly incompetent defense back on the field.
Yes, it started out 21-0, but the Rams cut that down pretty quickly, and for the most part it was about 11 points down. Still, McVay was almost non stop passing.
