Talk about non-answers and evasion. Seems to be working pretty well. Of all the things to ding coach about - his honesty in a press conference? The media pressers with players and coaches are pretty much just window dressing. There's no real info in there. If you don't like what he's saying - don't watch.
Its great that he lies to the media.
I have no use for almost all of them.
All I'm saying is that when McVay says something in a presser that we should say "see, McVay said Gurley isn't on a pitch count and he's 100% so that proves there's nothing wrong with Gurley"
I have heard fans say that, and it's absurd.
He's not lying, there is no "pitch count" in the NFL
Here is my theory on Gurley and his usage -
I think Gurley is as healthy as he has ever been right now, BUT the end goal is to make sure he is still healthy in December for the stretch run.
He is like that fire extinguisher in the office "break in case of emergency" I think McVay is going to try to use him as little as possible throughout the year and save his work horse for the playoff run.... rely on Goff, Brown and the defense to get us through the first half of the season....use Gurley when you need to like he did in Carolina so far it's working.
I don't think Gurley is happy about it, but he has to understand why this is the way to go
