I keep hearing guys in the media say you cant believe anything McVay says and that he blatantly lies. Most of this has to do with Gurley. I think there is some validity to these accusations.
The think about McVay is he likes to talk and wants to be friends with the media. Unlike a guy like Belichick who when asked about one of his players says nothing or walks off the stage.
Its neither here nor there, just an observation.
We can never be sure when McVay says something if its true or not. Actually, if its a pointed question, then his answer is more likely to be a lie, IMO.
No it is not the case that you one must or can doubt EVERYTHING McV says. That really over-states the case.
It is true that when it comes to Gurley, no Rams official can be taken directly at their word.
But I also think that has everything to do with GURLEY. I think it's Gurley who insists that his condition not be subject to public discussion. And that's not just McVay. It's Snead and Demoff too.
Remember, this is the same Gurley who (if memory serves) refused to allow combine medical people to look at his knee in 2015.
My hunch is that Gurley said "I don;t want you talking about my knee" and the organization is just complying.
I'll tell you what IS subject to regular rational doubt. Anything any national reporter says about the Rams. They are not the last word on the team. Why not? Same old reason. As dedicated active fans, WE KNOW MORE THAN THEY DO. It's the same old issue--they follow 32 teams and do not know any of them as well as we know this one.
