Here is what I think we know.
1. Gurley knee was a problem late in the season and it effected his performance.
2. Gurley did not need surgery on the Knee so the severity is thought to be significant
3. He had a previous ACL surgery but seems to have made a full recovery
4. Rams coaches and FO has been evasive about his knee issue
5. Brown signing doesn't mean a thing regarding Gurley as the need a backup and like Brown especially at a good price
6. Henderson is is a change of pace and a can be on the field for a 2 back formation plus he is additional insurance.
So resigning Brown and signing Henderson doesn't mean Gurley is done but using a 3rd rounder on Henderson does point to the Rams recognizing they had a need to diversify the offense and for insurance on Gurley. I suspect they will give him a light load in training camp and that he will not play any preseason games so it may take a few games to see how he holds up. I also think they will balance his load better and use Brown and Henderson to accomplish that.
Basically I don't think anyone really knows and I would guess there is some uncertainly about how Gurley will hold up in the Rams. That doesn't mean we should write him off or lower our expectations of this great running back.
